The Equine Eye Clinic

The video shows the removal of a cataract and the placement of a prosthetic lens in a yearling. The cataract was caused by a split in the lens capsule which was presumed to be a developmental condition we have seen in a number of other similar cases. 

2018 is the 10 year anniversary of our investment in a new portable equine cataract machine  which revolutionised   intra-ocular surgery  in our equine patients.

Cataract surgery remains one of the most technically challenging surgical procedures in our equine patients with the most intensive after-care requirements but also one of the most rewarding.
